Media Release: Port Adelaide community project to get $437,000

A project targeting local disadvantage being undertaken by Morella Community Centre has received $437,000 in funding support from the Australian Government.

Senator for South Australia Anne Ruston said the centre’s project was aimed at fostering thriving inter-cultural communities.

“This goes to the heart of the Turnbull Government’s Strong and Resilient Communities grant program under which this support has been provided,” Senator Ruston said.

“The project aims to build inclusion and social cohesion, and just as importantly it’s a local organisation driving a local community benefit.”

Senator Ruston said 83 organisations across Australia had received a total of $36.6 million in funding under the program.

“This complements the Turnbull Government’s national priorities of creating a safer Australia,” Senator Ruston said.
