Media Release: $2.268 million in funding for IDEAS

Disability support system Information on Disability Education & Awareness Services (IDEAS) will receive over $2 million in federal funding to help operate over the coming 12 months while it transitions to a new business model.

Minister for Families and Social Services Anne Ruston said IDEAS offers a dedicated call centre and website for people with disability and the public, with advice on disability services and supports.

“IDEAS provide information on everything from accommodation, employment, transport and respite care, to sport, support groups and independent living,” Minister Ruston said.

“It is an important service to people with disability, and I am pleased to announce this one off funding to support this organisation transition to new sustainable arrangements,” Minister Ruston said.

“The valuable services provided by IDEAS will make it easier for people with disability to make informed and independent decisions about their situation.

“I encourage people with disability to visit the website at www.ideas.org.au or to call 1800 029 904 from Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm AEST, to find out what’s on offer.”
