Joint Media Release: Kicking goals for local Victor projects

The Victor Harbor community will benefit from funding under Round 3 of the Federal Liberal National Government’s highly successful Building Better Regions Fund.

Senator for South Australia Anne Ruston said the Liberal Nationals Government’s investment in local projects under Round 3 will help grow the economy and build a strong future for Australia’s regions.

“The Rotary Club of Victor Harbor will receive $34,905 to construct a new viewing deck at Kings Beach and the City of Victor Harbor will benefit from $20,000 to develop a Fleurieu Cruise Ship and Boating Tourism Study,” Senator Ruston said.

“It is projects such as these that make our regional communities even better places to live and work, and I’m excited to see the positive difference this funding will make to the community.”

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the Liberal National Government is committed to ensuring Australia’s regions remain strong, resilient and prosperous in the long term.

“Today’s announcement continues our commitment to unlocking the economic potential of regional Australia and ensuring our regions continue to thrive,” Mr McCormack said.

Georgina Downer, the Liberal Candidate for Mayo, welcomed the news.

“The new viewing deck at Kings Beach will offer some of the best views in the region overlooking the Great Southern Ocean,” she said.

“The Fleurieu Cruise Ship and Boating Tourism Study will present an exciting opportunity to evaluate our tourism potential, now and into the future.”
