Media Release: $1 million in wine export marketing grants up for grabs from January

Wine businesses exporting to the United States and China will from next year be able to apply for up to $25,000 in Australian Government funding to support their marketing.

Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources Anne Ruston said guidelines for the grants, part of the Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package (ERWSP), were now available online.

“We’re backing the Australian wine industry in a transformational effort to market our wine to the world,” Minister Ruston said.

“There’s a particular focus in on the United States and China, our largest wine export markets and the ones with the most growth potential. The ERWSP includes a $32.5 million investment in marketing to these two countries over the next three years.

“Guidelines for these grants are available online. Applications will be on a first-come first-serve basis, so I strongly encourage wine businesses to read the guidelines and prepare for the opening round which begins on 2 January 2018.”

The ERWSP aims to increase the value of Australian wine exports to a record $3.5 billion and attract an additional 40,000 international tourists to Australian wine regions.

Programs under the ERWSP are administered by Wine Australia. For guidelines and more information on how to apply, visit http://erwsp.wineaustralia.com.
