Labor just voted against a Coalition amendment to their CDC Bill in the Senate seeking to ensure the Government cannot place age pensioners, veteran pensioners, and service pensioners on income management.
This is disgraceful and hypocritical.
Labor ran a shameless scare campaign prior to the last election on the CDC.
Despite the former Coalition Government’s clear and consistent statements that we never have and never will have a policy to force age pensioners onto the CDC, Labor continued to scare pensioners with this lie as a shameless grab for votes.
Now we ask the Albanese Labor Government - how many pensioners will be placed on income management under your new ‘enhanced technology’?
The former Coalition Government made a consistent commitment to never force age pensioners onto compulsory income management, and the Albanese Government must reiterate the same commitment.
